The Media training course for women in Batticaloa

The Media training course for women in Batticaloa, was conducted during the last two months in collaboration with the Sri Lanka College of Journalism and the Ministry of Skills, Manpower Development and Women’s Affairs of the Eastern Province. The main objective of the programme was to help develop skills for women to be independent in the media field and thirty women actively participated in the programme. The course comprised areas of television production, video camera techniques and script writing. The course was successfully completed and the certificate awarding ceremony was held on 22nd of September.
The officials of the Ministry; the Secretary, Mr. Karunakaran, Program Director and Chief Engineer Mr. M. Rizvi and Mr. Sudhagar attended the event. Representation of the Sri Lanka College of Journalism was made by Ms.Mehala Harindrah (Finance Manager), Ms. Dulani Sewwandi (Course Coordinator) and Mr. Milroy Anthony (Head Lecturer). The participants and the officials of the Ministry highly appreciated the project that provided students with an excellent opportunity to gain exposure and training in the Media field.
