Inauguration of New Batch of Students at SLCJ

The inauguration of the new batch of students for the Sri Lanka College of Journalism (SLCJ) was conducted at the SLPI Auditorium this morning.

The Chief Guest at this event was the US Ambassador, His Excellency Robert Blake. Other officials included the Chairman SLPI, Kumar Nadesan, Acting Director for the SLCJ, P Balasingham and Director General of the SLPI Ranga Kalansooriya.

Representatives of USAID were also present. USAID has given full scholarships to 18 students from the Eastern and Monaragala Provinces.

For the first time in the history of the College, a total number of 106 students enrolled for the year-long course comprising print, radio and television journalism. These students have been selected from across the island.
